The organizers declared the name of the Libertines earlier this week as the final headliners, who will join joining Mumford & Sons and Metallica on the bill for this year.

The indie-rockers would bring the great ship Albion to the fests this summer, coating a Reading & Leeds legacy that dates back to the year 2002. Rising up through the billing of the festivals, troubadours Peter Doherty, Gary Powell, John Hassall and Carl Barât made their Main Stage debut in the year 2003 and came back in the year 2004.

The group blew the crowds away in the year 2010 when they reunited famously at the fests and now, for the very first time, they will take their place as the headliners of the Reading & Leeds. In a video message, Peter Doherty told that he has just woken up and I can’t stop thinking about playing at Reading & Leeds.

There is a huge vibe in the band and they must be doing some new songs too. Therefore, it would be the best Reading and Leeds Fest ever.
