I’d like to know who said bruce can’t play. The guy is awesome!!! maybe not as flash as some other classic rock guitarists, but the guy is essentially a rhythm guitarist, and one of the best in the business
Didn’t see these guys perform – Bruce made that Glastonbury what it was – he shook the ground! He put on a great show with these kids. He is one of their main influences apparently – listening to them, not hard to believe.
Remember this well, Saturday afternoon Acoustic Tent at Glastonbury, there was a rumour going around that Bruce was going to perform with The Gaslight Anthem hence the crowd being twice as deep outside the tent prior to the show. we got there an hour early on purpose so we could get in, even missing Lady Ga Ga performing on one of the other stages. Worth every second “Cheers Bruce” for a great Saturday afternoon and a mind blowing Saturday evening set later on.
Bruce has so many amazing songs in that head of his…how can he possibly remember every lyric…especially someone elses lyrics? He is a rock n roll God!
What’s still more awesome is Brian Fallon coming on with Bruce at Hyde Park (the following day) and absolutely KILLING No Surrender with its composer standing there beaming like a proud papa. And no Telecaster: looks like a vintage Les Paul Junior.
Awesome to have The Boss playing with them, not so awesome that he was just standing there most of the time and got the words wrong when he joined in. When I heard about this I thought he must’a sung a verse or something; that woulda been cool.

I went to high school with him in NJ. Hadn’t heard from him in years and then saw him on David Letterman one night. Blew my mind.
Love the drummer! if the mighty max retires I think Bruce has a ready made replacement !

I was at Glasto and missed this performance – gutted!
